9am - 4pm, May 20, 2025

Led by Tina Marie Piccolo, MA Art Education, Brooklyn College
Former VA Faculty, Brooklyn Friends School

This workshop will inspire artmaking through analyzing sacred circles from world cultures, as well as those found in structures in the natural world and universe beyond. The workshop begins with a motivational slide show and continues with concept sketches for creating infinite designs starting with concentric circles. Learn how to use geometry to divide symmetrically and how to use two types of compasses, triangle and French curves to create an original, circular design. The final activity will be transferring designs to Plexi-glas panels and filling with transparent, glass paint colors to create a faux stained glass window. Take away lesson plans can also be used in elementary and secondary classrooms. This project is fun and appropriate for all ages from kids to adults. Materials, lesson plan, and lunch included.
